Not in bad condition, but as the drawbar was not original, and not replaced with a proper shape I decided that a restore was in order.

The front steering swivel was in good condition so this was not removed bot the drawbar and tyres were removed prior to paint stripping.

I used caustic soda in hot water to remove the paint. The container was the bottom of a juice bottle and the trailer was left for 30 minutes or so to remove the paint. The temperature of the water can increase the speed of stripping but I would not recommend boiling water as the fumes given off are toxic. In any case, use a well ventilated area.

The trailer, once well rinsed, was finished with wire wool. The axles can be masked prior to applying primer, and if the hubs are to be another color, do them first before masking and finishing with two top coats.

The drawbar was made using .035 inch MIG wire, a little thin but easy to find and easy to bend. I used a pair of long nose pliers to bend in
