Dinky Coles Mobile Crane 971
Not a bad model but in need of some restoration and repair. Strip down was fairly straight forward with the exception of the winding mechanism. I decided to go for broke and removed the winders by carefully reshaping the end until it slid out. There should be enough metal to tap back into shape. Fully stripped down, including the jib pulley. A little more work but it will look better. Await warmer weather to respray. Well that was quite an experience, it is finished as far as I want to go. Far too fiddly to replace the shafts that hold the jib and pulleys in place. Far too easy to damage and chip the paint. Otherwise not a bad job./images/1.jpg)
